Does anyone know where the program level blueprints are stored on disk? i want to back them up routine since they don't save in the savegame file but i can not find them anywhere.
any help is appreciated.

On Windows, I believe it's somewhere in %appdata%/factorio

Which game version? Steam should be in %appdata%/factorio, the .zip download, it will be inside the directory you extracted factorio to, for the .exe installer I think it is under appdata/Factorio in your windows home directory (where your windows home directory is, varies by windows version 
).
