Shield charge rate bonus!

If you want to have ideal combat situations, have a battery in your modular armor, and ensure that your fusion:shield ratios meet the minimum:
1:3
2:5
3:7
If you're running mods to support more things in your armor, I assume you can just scale it in that manner...4:9, 5:11, etc.
n:n*2+1, and a battery is required.

If your shield number exceeds the minimum ratio, you're good to go. If your shield number drops below that magic ratio (4:8, 3:6, 2:4, for example), you won't receive the bonus charging rate and your shields will charge much more slowly as they get depleted, when compared to the bonus charge rate. This means that you effectively have stronger damage resistance with 3 reactors and 7 shields, than with 4 reactors and 8 shields. You'll lose battery power more quickly, but you'll have a much more resilient character and have more equipment space with 1 fusion and 4 shields than with 2 fusion and 4 shields. The charge rate slightly decreases as you pass up the next appropriate minimum charge ratio. This means that you'll still get a bonus charge rate at 2:8 which is still faster than 4:8, but you'll be best off with 3:8 until you hit 9 shields.

The way it works, is that when shields charge concurrently (initial insertion, or after receiving ample damage) at or beyond the minimum ratio, the shields will charge noticeably more quickly once they reach low levels (they'll pull from the fusion and battery), and this bonus charge rate continues until the shields are just about fully charged (as they reach the end, concurrent charging is lost as the earliest shield is fully charged...or lose a little bit of health and you'll ensure that you always have full bonus charging speed, unless you let your shield reach full capacity). To see it in action in a perfect manner, you can drop in a 3:8 fusion:mk2 shield setup with a battery, start dropping cluster grenades right at your feet, and you'll stay alive until you get tired of dropping grenades, or many, many minutes later when your mk2 battery eventually dies. Put in a 4th fusion reactor, try again, and you'll die after a quick 30 cluster grenades.

Meh, I'll just stick with 3 fusion, 4 shield and no batteries. I've never needed more than that, and I like to have other things in my armor. We have enough tools at our disposal that making yourself unkillable is not really necessary.
