no path issue

I am getting a train no path error and I can't figure out why. It is a track that was working fine earlier today and nothing has happened to it, I haven't made any changes.

There is 1 track, 2 stations at each end, 1 train, 2 engines on the train, one facing each direction. There are no other trains, no branches, no signals, just a solid line of track.

The "problem" station has an "x" next to it in the menu

I can drive the track manually just fine. I have tried deleting the train and resetting it. I can't think what else to do.

This is not my first train and I am not new to factorio. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks

Can you add a screenshot of the train network or you savegame ?

should be a signal placement problem

It's a lack of loco problem.
Trains will auto path only in direction to which at least one loco points. You'd like your train to reverse so it needs to have second loco at the end pointing in that direction.

As mentioned in the OP, there is one engine at each end of the train, facing opposite direction.

There is some good help on the wiki that you may want to take a look at.

Doublecheck:
- That the locomotives are facing in the correct direction. Simply having one on each end of the train is not sufficient, they have to be oriented the right way.
- That both locomotives are fueled.
- If you can drive manually to the other station but not go there automatically, then either the signalling is bad, or the station itself is at the wrong side of the track.

Your screenshot does not show the entire train, nor the other station. Can't check these things.

use signals in both travel directions.

It should work without signals with 1 train only.
You might need to check if other station is properly oriented. Screenshots of stations would help with that.
