How to solve main belt running into water?

So I have a few options in mind but just for fun I thought I´d run a poll about this. Maybe someone will find an option I didnt think of?

Since it became unpractically wide, then it would be better to split it into two parts on both sides of the lake.

even though its named like that, it is actually a game save file, does not include the mods. (I use the name of the mod Im running as basis for my save game names because... umm... reasons.)

mods needed:

factorissimo
all of bobs mods except the research progress saving one since vanilla does that now

and here are all the mods I´m running, zipped (just unzip to your mods folder in case of any doubt)

I'm pretty sure that the acreage involved in a 90-degre turn would dwarf quite a few bases at this point.

It depends on the circumstance. A base that big should have no trouble landfilling a small or medium lake, while rotating it would require a LOT of room and planning. For smaller bases it's much easier to turn so it's only worth landfilling small lakes.
