Critter deaths and water disappearing

Is it me or every time large amount of critters rush into my turret line near a body of water and die: they leave yellowish terrain and if it is very close to water, the water turns into land. I play with lots of critters so I like to make thick turret lines from lake to lake, but i noticed they keep shrinking exactly where critters die. When did this happen? This normal?

You are using natural evolution mod which is causing this.
I think you need to update since it has been fixed in latest release.

Updated, loaded the save and it behaves little bit different now. Instead of extending land mass to create proper edge of land to water. The terrain on the very edge simply turns yellow (replacing the edge of land) but not creating any extra walk-able land tiles over water. That make sense?

notice left and right, it was extending and the ridges were generated around the yellow, removing some water. After update i tried int he center, water is intact but terrain is weird.
Maybe i should close game completely?

edit: think ill turn off the scorched earth, with 50 criters rushing me constantly every minute , kinda makes all terrain as i expand turn yellow x_x
