how do you find stone ?

So ran into a small issue where we cant find much stone on our current map, its a right bugger normally hiding under trees, I can normally only find it visually running about. Anybody got any tips/ tricks / ideas on how to find more stone ?

*would rather avoid using console, although awards are disabled already.

Stone does appear on the map but visually looks almost the same color as iron.

Large rocks give about 20 stone, you could as a group sweep the area and net a few k worth, enough to get the means to travel...

I also generated a map with no stone deposits just the rocks and it really limits my ability to smelt.
I increased size and richness of iron, copper and oil. left stone alone but there are no deposits on the map. i have read that they are looking at fixing resource generatinon but just saying that this man is not alone.

Try raising the frequency for rock deposits on the map gen screen and see if that helps. It fixed it for me but I'm not sure if it was fluke or actually fixes the lack of rock spawning.
