How do I stop research?

I started Lab Efficiency 3 but I don't have Science Pack 3. It requires research I haven't done yet so I want to Stop Lab Efficiency 3 and do the research for SP3. How do I do that

Just press the appropriate Research hotkey again ("T" by default).

More specifically, once the screen is open, select any other available research and click the "Research" button. This erases any progress and you don't get the science packs back, so use it carefully.
