Map generation happens on the fly, that way the save file is only as big as it needs to be. To make it backwards compatible would mean including the map generation algorithms for the previous version or two, and saving a version against the save file that then determines which algorithm to use - a fair bit of work for something that will only affect the occasional game.

Generally due to all the problems with moving between major versions, many players just start a new map. That way you get to play with all the new features from scratch, as it's designed to be played.

I used the wrong wording.

What I meant to say that the extension fits to the current landscape.

Now there are very ugly transitions, like the water in the picture above.

And like the one below. The landscape changes abrupt but the trees are having a smooth transition.

To me that's more a bug than a feature. Think I should post the picture in the Version 0.16.25 or bug report part of the forum

The feature is that you can use an old save in a new major release, if you can not live with those transitions, don't use that feature.

It depends on what was changed in the map generation code. Looks like the generation of trees remains consistent, but biomes and water were changed. You're still using the same map seed so whatever hasn't changed will continue generating as it was before.

I pressed the wrong button and my crafting queue had over 1.7K read wire in it, is there a way to cancel everything in the crafting queue? I pressed al combination of control and shif but the max it would do was 5 at a time.

Shift+Click the item in the crafting queue, just tested clearing out 1.2k Copper Wire.

Hi Guys, I am trying to get a long arm inserter to only output U238 from a Koverax refinery using circuits onto a specific belt, how do I do this?

In short, you can’t, you need a filter inserter.

Your inventory will be stored in a "character corpse". If you manage to find the corpse in time, you can get your items back.

Yes, it had been so since an Update (i don´t rember which). But now it´s so that if i die, i loose my whole inventar. If i go back to the die-position i find nothing or a wooden-chest, which is blank or has some coald in it. I thouht it was a feature - so dieing is more bad.

That was a bug - it was fixed the next release.

Have the arm output to a box which is locked down to max 1 slot. Put one U238 in the box.
The arm will then only grab U238 since that's all it can add to the box.

Use a logic wire on the inserter removing items from the box to prevent it from removing the last U238, and the system will be stable.

i know there is a line to remove empty chunks so there need to be anew be sighted....

but i just can't find the mod or line for it....

have anyone it at hand ?
