HELP get rid of red boxes surrounding everything

I started new world and every thing has red boxes around it PLEAS

Hi guys, actually I have the same problem now, and hitting twice the F5 does not solve it. F5 is showing and hiding the in-game grid, while I have red boxes all around the on screen entities.

I turned them somehow on by pressing a shortkey on the keyboard. Now, I can't find this shortkey anymore. It is not F4-F5-F6, already tried.

Please help!

You need to use the "attachments" menu just under the text message to add an image that will display automatically.

F5 is the default key to toggle on/off the debug menu which by defaults add tons of different overlay.

F4 by default open a selection menu where you can tick boxes to set up which overlay the debug menu is showing and which overlay will be shown in the normal game ( by default no debug overlay).


You may have change the keybinding, or have a different configuration than the default one, or maybe things have changed since 2016, in order to know which key is the one assigned to this menu now you can go into the options under the "control option" there should be a part that is dedicated to those hotkeys.

I have never seen such thing it's pretty interesting i guess you have 1 box ticked in the debug menu, if you press F4 on the pannel "always" there may be 1 box ticked ?

Other idea is maybe some accessibility settings from your OS, something that read text or highlight clickable ?

I think it is shift-F6 (or maybe shift-F5/shift-F7…) you can find it listed in “Controls” ingame.

Ctrl+F5, 'Toggle GUI Debug' in the controls.

Pretty sure restarting the game also clears it.

I can see how that's definitely obnoxious but it's actually kind of cool too. Looks kinda like an 80s sci-fi interface mockup or something.
