Cannot use Holmium ore with a quality above normal to make Holmium solution. I assume this is because the recipe produces a fluid, but the result is effectively a reduction in holmium production if you use quality modules in recyclers.

Did you forget to set the recipe quality?

No leave the thread up. The issue has come up a couple times already where other people were asking the same thing.

Koub (the forum mod) should probably merge those threads into one however, so people with the issue get to see the solution immediately instead of making more threads with it.

It's a shame there's no benefit to using uncommon holmium for this. Maybe if it gave more fluid?

It makes me sad you can't directly craft higher quality holmium plates, since they solely use fluid. I'd love if the fluid could be quality and/or the plates required a quality-applicable item, like iron plates, in the crafting recipe.

You're correct in that you can't, but you can make EM plants and recycle them using quality modules to get the upgraded holmium plates instead, and it is rather reliable.

If you do make a higher quality holmium solution, does it make more of it? What is the advantage of doing this?

There is no quality for fluids. You can't make higher quality holmium solution

The only "advantage" is that you have a sink for quality holmium ore. Other than getting rid of quality ore, it doesn't serve any special purpose or give you anything extra.

Sorry I meant in the question that if you input higher quality ore to make normal level solution, does the higher quality holmium ore create more of the normal holmium solution?

It looks like my question was answered recently: the answer is no, and the point of using higher quality holmium ore is to get rid of it and at least make something with it.
