Logistics bots won't bring higher quality items?

I must be doing something wrong; when I set a logistics request for "greater than normal quality" assembler 3's, the logistics bots don't bring them.

I'm standing right next to a passive provider chest with a bunch of them in it, but they don't seem to be activating.

They bring normal Assemblers when I set that request, what am I doing wrong?

It shouldn't be possible to request "greater than normal quality" in game. Those only works for "trash" or things like splitters or inserters, for logistic request the specific level of quality need to be requested, or several request if any/every level is required.

Supposedly when attempting to do the so the game grey out the field where the amount of requested good is to be written and show a tooltip if you hover over the slide bar :

I suppose the request that is validated given the steps you took in your game is a request for normal quality.

I mean, I don't know why it has to be ambiguous. Just bring me the first N number of items that match. If I want something specific, I'll make a filter for something specific.

Yeah I don't quite get why this doesn't work... I just want to request a total of N items of any quality.

I'm sure its because items of differing quality do not stack. So you need to use the "=" <rarity> instead of multiple rarities for your logistics request.

Otherwise you'd end up with a scenario where you get brought for example, 1 rare, 20 uncommons, and 50 commons, each with their own stack. It'd fill the inventory rather quickly I would say. It also brings into question how should those items be prioritized? Nearest Item? Highest rarity?

That's probably why it's ambiguous.

If you would like to do your original setup of requesting any quality of an item, set them up individually.
