I just landed on Fulgora as my first planet - and discovered that I landed on a tiny island fully ringed by cliffs. There's no way off. Is this intended? Do I just need to go to another planet first to get some tech to deal with this?

All default map gen settings, only the default "mods" (base, elevated-rails, quality, space-age).

Looks to me - it's just bad luck. I rolled random seed many times (like 30+), looking on Fulgora map. Only 3 seeds, including yours has fully blocked small island in the center. In other cases there are some cliffs, but with smaller or lager spaces. Sometimes there is just tiny gap in circle.
Other full circle is, for sample: 2741106677
So probability to get blocked is about 10% or little less.
Still worth reporting.

This is fixed in 2.0.9. If you need help repairing your savefile you can attach it to this thread.

here is the fixed Fulgora save with some cliffs removed. Let me know if the Achievements aren't working or something else is off.

Happened to us too, but we just spend several hours sending the platform back and stocking it up with rail\raised platforms while stuck on the surface. If it works then it was just another challanage to solve to keep the factory growing.
