Can't move and shoot at the same time

I've played Factorio without issue for years, with my "old man keybinding" where I move with the arrow keys and shoot with right ctrl. After starting a new world with Space Age, I soon found out it was not working any more. As soon as I hold down ctrl I stop moving no mater what arrow keys I press. To get movement working again I have to release both ctrl and any arrow keys. Then I can move again. Needles to say, combat get a tad more difficult this way 
Is there perhaps something new that defaults to using arrow keys or ctrl that might interfere? Any ideas?
