Creative mode settings when starting a new game

TL;DR: I want creative mode settings in the game.

What I want: In Factorio, I want a range of options that enable settings that could create the circumstances for what one would call a "creative mode". These options would consist of invincibility, infinite resources, machines that don't need resources to work, and infinite ammo. Also, a simple "delete items" function would be nice, too.

The reason why I want them: The reason why I want these options to be implemented is so that casual gamers can enjoy Factorio without having to grind all the time. Furthermore, I want the options so that you can do things that you'd normally need to grind hours for to do, while being able to do it instantly with the creative mode options. Examples would be building a large railway, and burning down a forest.

Conclusion: I really think that these are good features to add to Factorio, and I honestly hope that you guys are willing to do so, this would make a lot of people very happy, and give people the option to have a more casual experience when playing the game.

Why not use the "Creative Mod" or the editor with "Editor Extensions"?
I don't think there's anything you can't already do, the editor is super powerful and mods make it even better.

Already exists.

You have the Sandbox scenario which gives you a few things right off the bat such as no player character to restrict your movement or reach, plus it asks you if you want to enable a few things like always day, cheat mode (instantly craft items by hand without the need of resources), unlock all tech, and give starting items.

You can also open the console and type "/editor" in any scenario which gives you the ability to pause time, instant build with blueprints and instant deconstruct, plus you can build things that you normally wouldn't be able to, like biters, cliffs, or even lay resources or change the ground tile types (to include water).

There are various other commands that can be used in the console, too. See: https://wiki.factorio.com/Console

And as mentioned, there are mods that give gui interfaces for a lot of this. My personal favorite is the Creative Mod: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/creative-mod

Yes.
From this subsection of the console commands page (https://wiki.factorio.com/Console#Enable_god_mode), you can run this command from the console:

Code: Select all

/c game.player.create_character()

Yes, in editor mode you can hover your mouse over a vehicle, press Enter, and you'll be driving the vehicles.

[Koub] Moving this to gameplay help : the feature request is actually already implemented, it's a matter of knowing it's there.
