I am not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question. Is there a underground belt overlay so I can see them?

There is not

There is an overlay when you are holding a blueprint, so for a temporary view you can copy a part of your factory and align it with its actual position.

Maybe worth making a suggestion to eg add an alt-mode option; I'm not sure it's massively useful but it looks like it wouldn't be a massive task to add either.
