Big Alience should be comparable to tanks in PVP

IMO now aliens are massively underpowered and the game looses a lot of fun because of that.
My reference point is the team PVP matches that go on in some Factorio communities. PVP battles are incredibly exiting and creative not only because of how smart real players are, but also because the weapons are much more powerful than what aliens have.
For example one tank can pretty much destroy an unprepared base, and it keeps everyone on the edge of their seats. One could reason that aliens should resemble the powers of human-made machines, but with less intellect. The current situation when a 10 laser turrets with enough power can stop a behemoth invasion is frankly ridiculous.
P.S. I am talking about the vanilla game experience, because that what the "face of the game" is. Obviously I can modify balancing with mods and the peaceful mode, but that is not what I after.
