So, I enjoy the game, but in the second campaign level, where you find the base and everyone is dead, I get to the point where I have to make 2500 piercing rounds, and a million other items, and there is NO WAY the resources around the base are enough to fulfill that. Especially the Iron and Steel. Are there other resources somewhere else? Do I need to build a train? I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be appreciated so I can continue through the campaign mode!

walk around a little, you'll find some more resource fields not too far away.

Follow the broken train tracks and you'll find some more resources. Then fix the tracks to find a way to transport it back to your base

Yeah, the point of that mission is teaching you how trains work.

trains aren't really necessary though, neither is using those bases at end of the tracks. if you take down some enemy spawners you can get your resources from the other extra fields...

I figured I'd have to use the train, but I also figured that the game would tell me when/how to do that and give me some guidelines on train usage, like it has for other stuff. My mistake! Train is fixed (tho I'm still figuring out how they work) and mission is on it's way. Thanks folks.

The when: the time you realise there aren't enough resources around your base to complete the objectives.

The how: broken train tracks leading to two abandoned mining bases filled with the exact resource you need.


I mean, maybe it's just me but I think the game did a pretty good job of telling me when and how I needed to progress through this level..

Right, I just meant more the mechanics. Like explaining what the rail signals are for/how they work, etc, like it did for some other things when they were introduced. But, trial and error works too! =p

Hmmm, yeah. Trial and error is very prominent in this game.

I found that I was unable to fit all the required resources in to my inventory, and even though the game specified that the materials should be placed in both your and your car's inventory, the resources that I put in there didn't count towards level completion.

It counts your inventory and the inventory of the car you are currently in, so load up the car, grab the rest, get in and the mission will complete.
