I have Factorio 1.8.3, and we played yesterday and i had big lag.

normaly my connection is good, if i play LOL (League of Legends) i have a ping of 12-13ms

yesterday it was to difficult to play, the lag was really to big

und today it s little bit better but i have still some lag

do you have an idee ? tis that normal to have that sometime lag and BIG lag on the factorio zone ?
is it possible that the servers are unstable from time to time?
we are a german and french team, we tested the "EU west", or it could be better with the 1.8. ?


should i use the last stable version and not the 1.8.3?

It appears your Factorio server crashed, but the service didn't detect it. I've manually fixed it for now. I'll have to look into why the crash detection didn't work in this case. There have been a few others lately too.

Is it possible to set custom start, for example deathworld configuration?

There's not a way to set a custom start. However, you can create a custom start locally and then upload that save to accomplish what you want.

Japan Region

Maybe there is something wrong with the line, or the 15MB file cannot run in China Region ?

It appears that some newer regions are occasionally timing out when provisioning resources. Trying a different region is the best solution for now, or wait a bit and try again in the same region.

I'll see about improving the experience going forward. At the very least there should be a better error message. I can probably tune the timeout and retry logic to wait for the necessary resources, we'll see.

Anyway we can get access to edit "server-settings.json" so we can add/edit the username & token fields ?

The service needs to control this file for a variety of security and scalability reasons. What are you looking to accomplish by setting these?

I intentionally don't allow listing servers. No outbound connections are allowed for security reasons. Public listings are avoided for cost reasons.

Love the service, friends have just started to use it to host our games. I was wondering if I am missing out on a feature or misusing something. I wanted the ability to run a modless game and a modded game. It seemed easy enough, make one save game slot the mod slot and the other no mods, but when I go to launch the game it seems to keep all the mods on. Is there some setting I am missing to configure which mods are launched with each save game or do I just have to manually toggle them?

Also, is this an open-source project? I do a little full stack and can offer up some cycles if needed. Cheers and thanks!

Good to hear you're enjoying the service with friends. You're not missing anything regarding mods and slots, the service just doesn't remember which mods go to which slots yet. I ran into the same problem with different groups, so I agree that it should remember per slot.

This project is closed source for the time being for a variety of reasons. If I don't use it for something else or if I ever stop running this service, I'll make it open source so others can make use of it.

Hi, awesome service and i have to say you are like a saint.

About the open-sourcing.... would it be possible for you to open source parts of the project? that way even if is useless for someone wanting to host their own instance of this it would allow others to help you with parts of the service without you having to expose the most delicate parts.

I know that depending on the modularity of the project this may not be feasible but what about creating a repository for the webpage for example as in the html css and js? People would be able to send merge requests with improvements and you can choose to implement them or not and at the end of the day, the html css and js are kind of already available although minified.

Another suggestion is to allow integration with our own cloud storage, so we can for example put an API key for google drive and have our saves and everything stored on our clouds without wasting space on yours and i know that google drive is probably not the best example for this.

As other mentioned some kind of method to sharing administration would be awesome, be it by login, a unique url, a token key or a password.

Kudos to you, not only for doing this for free but for your chill attitude you are awesome.
