I've gotten this report a few times now. However, I'm not sure how to reproduce it yet. Can you provide some more details?

1) Did you upload a map or just start from scratch?

3) Were you trying to use any mods or just the base game?
We were trying uploaded map and from the scratch. Where I can find the log output? And we not using any mods just base game.

Hi I had resteted my PC and i didn't saved the world. Can you please send me the world? If it is posible it was a lot hours of my work. :cry:

I figured out how to reproduce this and I don't believe it's related to Factorio Zone. It's a client-side installation issue that happens if you install over an older version of Factorio 0.17 (e.g. if you extract 0.17.9 into the same location as 0.17.2). The migration file "2018-08-03_Factorio_0.17.0.lua" that it references (in data/base/migrations) was removed in later versions. If that file is left there, it causes this issue. You can either manually remove it or do a clean installation to resolve the problem.

Do you mean a reboot or that you that you lost all data on the PC? If it was just a reboot, then you can just go back to the website with the same browser and it should remember you. From there you can download the save file or launch another server with that save file. If that's not possible or doesn't work, I might be able to recover the save with some info from you. Had luck starting on US-West, we'll stick to it, ping is fine from what I see.
I checked the logs and it appears those launches ran into an intermittent bug. There were a number of failed launches today, it seems due to unlucky timing and not specific to a region. I've deployed a mitigation that should workaround the issue for now. I'll follow up with a proper fix after I get a chance to diagnose the root cause. Thanks for reporting the problem!
I've deployed a proper fix for this problem. Unfortunately it happened a few more times since last week, but it should be resolved now.

  • Admin rights would be awesome. We play modded only, we dont care about console commands disabling achievments and the only easy startup mod we found gave us shields, not exoskeletons. On a RSO rail world with biters disabled.... We´ll cheat some into a singleplayer save and load that, but thats not going to be convenient if more people join.
  • Mod settings: i second that, even tho we dont need it at the moment, but i wouldn´t know how to change startup stuff. Reload a locally modified save?
  • Would it be possible to get it on the official hosted game list? Not that its needed, but would be a nice touch, specially if you have alot of steam friends playing the game and they see you in pY for the first time :D
  • Is there a way to see server stats? Could be helpful to know what a load our (planned) big base is putting on the server.
  • Could tokens be shared? (Export/import) At the moment its not a biggie for us, as we dont play alone and its only us 2. But it could grow, at least a little, and as it is right now, only one owners browser could start it, without another player uploading (the same) mods again from another browser and start from the last save.
  • -There is still no chocolate fund. WHY?
    I´d happily pay for it. I know neither Paypal or patreon are nice on the receiving end, they take way to much for themself
    But there must be a way. Could i gift you something on Steam?

Thanks for all of the input. It is helpful to prioritize what to work on next. Some responses for you:
  • Admin rights is near the top of the list.
  • Mod settings is a bit lower on the list, and you might be able to change them locally as you suggested.
  • The official hosted game list is a server setting that I might allow to be toggled in the future.
  • I hadn't thought about showing server stats, but that's a good idea.
  • Session sharing with something like tokens is at the top of the list.
  • Thanks for offering, but I'd rather not accept anything at this time.

Can't use service right now - after starting the service i seen the problem on the server oinstalling step - its too long. After some minutes i refreshed the page and cant now even stopo the server.

After reopening the page i got "Start server" button worked, but after clicking iit i see this log:

Hello ^^ I'm glad to see that Factorio zone is still up for 3 years now, I really am grateful for your service, but I have been wondering since I just came back to Factorio due to so much changes, you said 3 years ago that the upload limit was 10MB, if so.. what is the upload limit now?

One way to fit more mods on the list for now is to change the browser zoom to reduce the font size.

I've just added support for the admin console with a new input area at the bottom of the website. You'll need to refresh the page and restart your server for it to work. All of the console commands should be available. If you enter text without a slash then it'll show up in chat.

Are you referring to being administrator in the game or of the website? If you're asking about in the game, you can use the new admin console at the bottom of the website to input commands. Just enter "/promote <name>" to make someone an admin. If you're asking about the website, I haven't gotten to that yet. I plan to add some way to share control of it relatively soon.
