[1.1.25] Crash-to-desktop while ghost building belts; Access Violation: Read at address 0000000000000000

I'm playing a 2-person modded multiplayer game and twice in the last few hours we've gotten a pair of identical crashes to desktop. Both times, we think my friend set it off while attempting to ghost-build a line of transport belts although there may be some other behaviors in play related to the mods.
The crash occurs for both of us at the same time; the game freezes for both of us, and a popup appears stating the game has crashed and saying to submit the logs.
