game won't load [1.0.0]

this is actually my first problem with factorio, sorry to post on launch day.
I'm using GOG Galaxy and just got the update to 1.0.0 (was on experimental track before).

On start I'm getting a message that there are problems with mods and giving me the following

I've hit "Disable all mods" -> same error
I've hit "Restart" -> same error
I've hit "Exit" and restarted from GOG Galaxy -> same error

I've gone to %APPDATA%/factorio and renamed "mods" folder to "mods-disabled" and repeated all tries.
Sorry, no luck

I hope you can identify the problem, I want to play 1.0.0 in about 4 hrs with my friends... I'll try a total reinstall next, just wanted to let you know, in case others have the same problem.

Hello, I am not at computer right now, but does GOG galaxy have function to verify/repair the game? The update didn't install correctly for you

I'e returned with an update: uninstalling and installing from scratch fixed the issue (the download of the 1.4 GB took a while... Guess it's to be expected on launch day).

@posila: it does have a verify/repair button, but I've lost any trust in that working on other games. I always go the remove-reinstall route now if it comes down to that level.
