Edit - but it's working again now

I had what looks to be the same issue when updating from 53 to 54.

I started the game (was on 17.53) and it opened the update window. I said yeah, upgrade. It downloaded and restarted the game (like it normally does). Then when it was starting back up I got this error (and a request to report it). The game was then able to start the second try.

One other detail. I had tried to update to this version last night, and it appeared as if the download failed trying to update. However the game started the older version just fine. I'm not sure if that caused some type of corruption or anything like that.

Thanks for the report. These crashes are all fixed for the next version of 0.17. When it's released you may need to manually update since it's crashing in part of the updater logic and that won't be fixed until you're fully updated.
