[0.17.45] Vehicle movement wrong for extremely low speeds

Post by Nirahiel »

If you're in a vehicle (tested with car and tank) and are moving diagonally (meaning you have a variation in X and Y axis), then when the vehicle slows down below a certain speed, one of the axis doesn't move anymore (even though it should) and your vehicle drifts sideways.

Adding the current log, even though it's really not necessary, but ...
log-file for every report!
Please include it even if you believe it's unnecessary.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi,
the driving is not perfect as we are aware. It would use a bigger overhaul. I tried myself last year but it was not convincing enough so did not finish it. I don't know if it will happen before 1.0. I don't think that we will be doing such low priority fixes before then.

This happens because of our map coordinate precision. The required movement one one axis would be less than our map precision, thus why you get the sliding effect.

I made it so the vehicle stops at about 2.5 km/h, to make this issue less visible.
