What did you do?
1) Have an item selected from the hotbar
2) Click (not hotkey) on the Deconstruction Tool (the same happens with all tools on the right side of the hotbar)

What happened?
The item is still selected.

What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
The Deconstruction tool should be selected and the item deselected from placement and the toolbar.

Reproduction reliability
100%. This always happens.

This seems to work properly in the newest version.

Not fixed in 0.17.64.

Just to be clear, this is how it should work, demonstrated with the "cut" tool.

Yea, I didn't realize, that pressing ALT+D (The way I tested that) had a slightly different path then pressing the button directly.

Fixed for the next release.
