[0.17.12] Bitters evolving too fast

It's virtually unplayable now. Bitters evolve faster than I am able to research military solutions.
9 minutes of early gameplay and evolution rise from 20% to 28%. It's crazy.

We where talking about this in the 0.17.12 release thread too.
The way the pollution evolution factor setting works has changed and the value isn't migrated on old saves.

Is there a way to adjust the setting on old version world without disabling achievements?

I'm pretty sure it would take console commands to work around it and that would break your achievements. I think I remember reading somewhere that there is a way to reenable achievements on a save with a hex editor, but I don't personally know the details.
The way they have been patching lately, I would be surprised if they don't fix this tomorrow (ed or today depending on your time zone) as a priority so just waiting is probably the best solution.

It is not only a problem on migrating old saves, also the scale is shifted so much that even setting the factor to 1 is too much on a modded game.
(As production lines are much more complicated, they will unavoidably emit much more pollution than in a vanilla game even with the normalized pollution values!)
@kovarex: Could you please either allow rational numbers (e.g. 0.05) or shift the scale by e.g. factor 100 to allow a more fine grained setting in the lower area of the scale?
I like to play with evolution, but in a Bob's/Angel's-game my evolution is skyrocketing already in burner phase.
//edit: I changed the setting manually with the console now, something in the area of 2e-7 seems reasonable ...

Since the values are kind of magic anyway, we could probably just show percent modifier of the default values in the gui.

Yeah, that would be great, have it at 100% as normal value, and be able to adjust it in a wide range (e.g. 1% - 10 000%)
