[0.17.9] (minor) Shadow of wire connection is weird

Hello there,
I just have the feeling, that the shadow of wires from power poles needs a small adjustment.
In the below screenshot I try to visualise what I'm thinking. The top part is good to see the shadow, the lower part for the wires.
You see the wire connection on the left. From the player view, the wires are connected right (they hang down).
But the shadow just looks strange.
Since the light is (always, even in night ) coming from left, I rotated the power poles 90° to visualise what the "light" sees.
Therefore I would expect to see a wire shadow on the top left, which is similar to the wire connection on the lower right.
Why should it be like the lower right?
On the lower right it is the view like we are the "light". When we see the wire, our "light" will not reach the ground and cast a shadow. Therefore I would expect a shadow to look like wire view on the bottom right (just rotated 90°).

I believe wire shadows are just gray wire copies with an offset and without any perspectively correct calculations.

Along the same lines (no pun intended) as this one:

Oops, you're right. I did a search for shadow, wire or cable and couldn't find anything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Heh, don't beat yourself up. There currently seems to be an issue with the index behind the forum search... or some other issue hampering the search function:

I'm not sure there's a "simple" solution for this, in all honesty. Here's a "quick" render I did in Blender with a 45° parallel light source and the wire texture from Factorio's files...this shows how the wire shadow should look.
EDIT: Actually, this might be doable by rotating the wire shadow texture 90° clockwise (including its "endpoints") and attaching those to the shadow's "connectors".

We just draw the shadows identically to the wires, without any perspective corrections.
I looked a bit if there's some quick and easy solution but I didn't really find one.
It's a minor issue, not really worth it.

I hope this get's fixed some day
since we are coming closer and closer
to the final Game.
Maybe we even get better shadows?

Last time I saw space elevator shadow pretty far away from the space elevator, I was kind of impressed by it. I don't know if they broke since then.

Could this weird wire-shadow be fixed by a mod?
