Same problem.

Win10 1803, i7-4790K, Radeon R9 270, Software 17.12.2017 driver 23.20.15007.1005 whql

ERROR 'INVALID_OPERATION' (1282) in glDrawElements


New software 09.01.2019 driver 25.20.15011.1004 whql doesnt help either


EDIT:
Seems to be some STEAM issue. Downloaded the ZIP from the website and tzhe problem is gone. Factorio Build is 42971. Steam game integrity has been successfully verified.

As mentioned here: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=65171&p=400757#p400757, disabling the steam overlay seems to do the trick.

Same issue here with another data point. Also Win10-64, running an AMD R9 390 on latest drivers. Disabling the Steam overlay fixes the issue on both the main page and inside the game. Forcing D3D also fixes the issue when the Steam overlay enabled.

Thanks again for the report.

The problem with Steam overlay when using OpenGL renderer is fixed as of 0.17.3. Though, on Windows, preferred renderer is Direct3D.
