Spitters outrange towers

Spitters have a higher range than towers. A single Spitter can destroy the full defense and the towers dont fire.

Do they out-range laser towers? It might be intended that they out-range standard gun towers.

Then again, I could be wrong as well :)

That would make sense, since spitters only start spawning at evolution factor 0.3 (which I suppose would be a few hours into a game). On the other hand, that would tip the scales even further in favour of laser turrets, making gun turrets even more useless. But I guess that's a topic for a different forum :)

This has been said by the devs, that gun turrets will become more useless.

Other weapons will come. I think this is not a bug. :)

Very bad... :(
As for now there's no new weapons, so I think shooting range of turrets should be temporally increased.

Or you should go sooner for lasers? In that scenario it would be enough to have about every 10th turret as laser...

Or add Tech to increase the range for towers.
I think, for a sandbox game, it should be the players choice, how to play the game.
But with the outranging enemies, the game lose some of its flexibility.

Acutally you can use Solar Panels or Oil/coal for energy
You can use belts, trains or bots for the logistic
You could use Laser or conventional Turrets before patch

I agree with you completely (It is impossible for me to agree more, because I already agree 100%) ;)

It was just an oversight, all the spitters have now (in 0.11.6) the same range as the small spitters, so they don't outrange gun turrets.
