Since updating from 0.16.25, I seem to only get 1 stack of items back from corpses whenever I die, 100 belts on my main save, or 8 iron plates on a fresh default world. I suspect it is whatever appears first in the inventory.

Thanks for the report. It's now fixed for the next version of 0.16.
