[kovarex] [15.37 to 15.40] Train Cars overrides Engine Stations

A bug which I found:

While moving some Cars on Tracks around with an Engine (Just for realisim sake.)

I noticed when disconnecting the engine from some Cargo wagons and reconnecting them again Cars somehow override the Changes to the route I make while in the disconnected engine.

How to recreate:

1: Create a Train with one Engine and at least one car (fluid or cargo)
2: Set up a route
3: Enter the engine and disconnect the Engine from the cars via "V" (default settings)
4: Change the route settings
5: Reconnect the Engine to the Cars using "G" (default settings):

-> The route settings from step 2 appear again. And the changes from step 4 are not saved.

I noticed that on 2 headed trains when I disconnect one locomotive. I thought it was the remaining locomotive that would override the route, which is good. Doesn't make as much sense for wagons without locomotive.

The most sensible thing to do might be to preserve the schedule from the part of the train that you control. So if you hover over the wagon and connect the wagons schedule counts. If you hover over the locomotive (or sit in it) then the locomotive counts.

I changed it for 0.16, that when merging two trains, it selects the schedule with latest change, instead of the one that has more stations in it, which is how it works now.

That seems better.

Can't wait for .16.

Hi,
Why not make it use the schedule of the train you are currently occupying?

I only suggest this now as I don't really remember what train has the latest update, but I can know what train I am in.
If I attach a new locomotive to an existing train I can at least reason about it.

*I realise that no matter what scheme is selected, someone will find it unintuitive*
