I read them.

Spliter not spliting when close to inserter

[0.12.31] Splitter/inserter interaction issue still present.
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=24617

There are differences between putting on a belt and putting on a splitter.
In the case of a belt it is rotationally symmetrical,
In the case of a splitter it is not.
Is this a bug?

I remember that the belt placement process changed in the past, but have not changed the splitter?
Problems occur when copying and rotating with blueprint.

The place the inserter drops the items is what determines if the items get put in front of the splitter or behind it. In those rotations it happens to drop in front of the splitter - which is by design.

It says
"If a belt is in the same orientation as the inserter, the item will be placed on the right-hand lane, from the belt's perspective."

Is the splitter not the same design as the belt?

Perhaps it should be clarified that the splitters are not doing anything in any of the cases. In fact it would be clearer if splitters were removed from the left column of the example pic.

Sorry.
I posted images of other tests.
I recreated it.

Just to make sure, I think he did not consider the not-splitting a bug, but that having a splitter in that position seems to change the behaviour regarding on what side of the belts the items end up:

I was doing another experiment and checking if the blueprint containing the splitter was rotatable,
I noticed the problem occurred when rotating.
At that time, I still did not know that it would not split if placed in front.
I think that there is no problem that it will not be split when putting it in front of the splitter.
I think that it is a problem that the behavior changes depending on the direction.

I want to reopen this case.
its fore sure a bug - the items normaly need to placed on the right side of the belt but into the south and west the items are placed on the left beltside.

Well the devs decided it wasn't a bug.

It would be no bug if the items are all orientated on the right belt side
But the items are placed on the left beltside what is 100% a bug
