I went to play Factorio, and forgot to hook up my heaphones. And it'd give me this error:

Failed to install audio! (Try to start the game again)

But after plugging in my headphones, it works just fine.

Hello, that is just coincidence, the "Failed to install audio! (Try to start the game again)" just happens sometimes randomly.

It also happens if you kill pulseaudio on Linux for example..
So he is kind of right, you cant play without audio (;

Without sound, the game is not fun, and thus cannot be considered "play".

Hence, the game requires sound to play

I've just tried to reproduce it, and it seems to be requiring audio to be in still. Not a huge issue though.

Not quite. This game doesn't run on sounds. It is more visually oriented and requires you to see what you are doing to play. Not hear. For me, I simply could not play without sound, but some people might go soundless for some reason.

At my work computers have audio disabled by default, so I'm unable to play the game during lunchtime. Even restarting the game a few times does not start the game. I hope this will get fixed in the future

I see, so we should add a dialog instead:

Couldn't install audio:
Retry/Ignore

That would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, it is fixed for 0.10.1 now, the game is possible to start and play without audio, small notice about the failure to install audio is displayed in that case at start.

I tested all the main problems that could be there in the non-audio mode, but if I overlooked something, let me know.
