[0.13.3] [Oxyd] Biters will not attack/path through wall of trains

Post by Nigit »

Biters/spitters repeatedly rendezvous at a location, but then dissipate because they could not find a path to the source of the pollution. There were no attacks even after 1 or more hours of waiting. Note that removing a segment causes the aliens to attack again.

The intended effect, of course, would be to have the biters cross the tracks and go splat.

Making all those trains and putting them on the rail and having them go round and round. So much work.

Impressive, mad, best bug report ever :).

Bravo*2 @Nigit: once for building such a defense and and once for finding such "edge case of edge cases " type of bug :D

This just goes to show you that biters are intelligent and know that crossing that track would expect instant death

How is the train refuelled? This actually looks like a startlingly valid defense, but only if the trains remain in perpetual motion because a means of fueling them has been provided.
In my mind, Steam is the eternal king of the railway.

It's not useful, because the giant train makes this base run at less than 60 fps even with nothing else moving.

I don't care about FPS till it goes below 25 and becomes a slideshow.

Though it sounds like Oxyd already fixed this and I might have missed the chance to play with it, I wonder if the same effect can appear with only 3 trains.
