[0.12.25] [cube] Water only in starting area causes segmentation

I have no mods installed.

When generating a new world with the everything on default except water set on "only in starting area", the terrain is very segmented:

Interesting, thanks for the report. This is not a critical error, though, so I will try to fix it with the terrain generator changes waiting for 0.13. Sorry for having to wait :-)

It is also always mostly desert with only sparse dead trees if any, making wood pretty scarce. I generated dozens of games, it's never forested.

This is an intended game design choice. If you choose water only in starting area, you'll only get deserts, no matter what you do. I already complained about that long ago, and it's the answer I got :).

That is not fixable what is not a bug and yet with strange aeons even non-bugs may get fixed.
