[0.12.0][Twinsen] Miscolored text at times

Here's a screenshot. The number 0 in stacks always shows grey instead of white, and there were a few letters that would also show discolored at times but I didn't take extra screenshots of those.

I almost went to write "but there is no 0 on the screenshot"
It's in the "5 of coal" which is actually "50 of coal"

I had this issue with the FPS counter. I re-logged and it was back to normal. I noticed it after i came back from lunch, where it was left for a while running.

If someone can reproduce this problem let me know. I will need more information.

I've not seen it again since posting this report. If it happens again I'll try to figure out why. It shouldn't matter, but the initial games I did were multiplayer and I've only been playing solo since then.

Do you use a large number of mods? Or mods that use alot of video memory(like weitex).
This might be related to alt-tabbing, changing screens, locking the computer, etc, so let me know if you did anything like that when the issue appeared.

I've seen it once.
For me it was on letter w - and I have Waitek and DyTech as main mods and I do alt+tab quite often.
According to GPU-Z I have still some headroom on gpu memory - usage reached 1.6GB on 3GB GPU (Radeon 280X).
I'm running 64 bit version on windows 7.

The only mod I was using is RSO. However I do tend to alt-tab a lot when playing Factorio or any game really.

This one seems to be very tricky and mysterious bug. It's probably related to the graphics library.
I wouldn't want to move this bug to "1 / 0 magic". If anyone finds a way to reproduce it, I will probably send them a special version of factorio with more logging.
Can you post your video card model and Factorio graphics settings?

http://www.twitch.tv/fireblade212
Is currently streaming and any "6" in his FPS info shows discolored. It'll be in past broadcasts if seeing it as video helps any.

It happened today again.. only common part would be alt+tabbing out of game for quite long time. And it happens on same latter - w is broken and grey.
I have Radeon 280X with 3GB VRAM and graphic settings on normal, all video memory usage and 8x multisampling. Not using Waitex HD this time - mem usage reported by GPU-Z is about 1GB.
And it's not limited to only letter w - different letters are affected on console (w is affected on floating text):

I made a special version of Factorio 0.12.3 that also creates very detailed logs for the allegro library.
Just copy the two files from the zip file in Factorio\bin\x64, in the same folder as Factorio.exe, but run the game using Factorio-allegro-logs.exe. It will create an allegro.log file in this folder.
Once the problem occurs, exit the game, save this log and the normal factorio log and upload them here. Keep in mind that the file will become very big(~100MB), but should be around 3MB after you archive it.
Download it here:

Thanks. Hopefully this will be helpful.

I did try it yesterday for 4-5h with the logging - no dice.
Bug doesn't like to be watched.

I have seen this as well. I will try running with the logging turned on to hopefully catch this issue.

it almost seams as if the text is renders 2 times with the underlay then the overlay and not being handled properly all the time letting the underlay become the overlay at times not sure how the text is handled so cant say that is the case

I managed to reproduce the problem by continuously locking the windows screen while the game was active.
I am happy to say this bug is finally fixed in 0.12.7 and will not be moved to 1/0 magic

Thanks for the reports and screenshots.
If this problem somehow manages to reappear, replay to this thread.

It was very 1/0 magic one looking one. It's good that you managed to reproduce and fix it.
