[kovarex] [16.11] Crash on autosave REOPENED
Crash evertime it autosaves. Game runs ~200h fine , no problem till 16.10/11
How to reproduce:
1. Load attached save file
2. Just idle wait for the autosave

Update:
I removed some mods and found, that the crash is related to the autoDeconstrution Mod. If i remove it, the autosave don´t crash the game
@Sandman2003:
you have the same Mod installed, could you try to remove it and check if this fix the problem as well?

And without Autodeconstruct, I have had a successful save both auto and manual, and then a crash on exiting the game. This mod pack was fine in 0.16.8, btw ....Hellspawn wrote:Update 2:

So this issue is currently filed under resolved issues. But it is not resolved as it 0.16.12. Shouldn't the issue be moved and assigned? Or do I need to repost?

Take my save file from this thread, apply mods- (zip for one I am working on is included and in a working conditon) allow game to auto save, or sometimes on manual save, and sometimes on just exiting the game, you will encounter the crash. The mod pack worked on stable 0.15 through to 0.16.8 without these saving crashes.Rseding91 wrote:How can I reproduce the crash?

I did some testing today to get some more information about this bug. Here are my findings, i hope they help you nail down this bug
- i removed all mods, pure vanilla now
- the game now stops now and did not create a Error messages and dont closes itself. Instead your character cant move anymore or interact with anythink closeby. But you can still open the debug Menues (e.g. "F5" etc). The figues there are still updateing/changing (i have to admid that i cant tell you if they still made sence then), Mouspointer still available.
- i have to kill the factorio.exe task in the task manager to end the game
- the log file last entry is somethink like this: "62.373 Verbose Scenario.cpp:510: Saving game as C:\Users\Oliver\AppData\Roaming\Factorio\saves/Oli Bot World no Mod"
How to reproduce the bug:
- load the map, wait round about 1-2min then save the game.
- i saw the error with autosave and with manual save.
- I can save the Map multiple times in a row without leaving the Main Menue back to the game. --> no crash --> wait ingame for 1-2min --> save game --> crash

I decided to test out a hunch, and re migrated my savefile from 0.15 stable. I Imported the savefile into 0.16.12 using all the same mod pack, and having all the mods engaged and running. The results so far are that the game behaves normally under multiple saves both manual and autosave. In addition the game exits normally, both via a normal game shut down, and when encountering a lua error that would otherwise force the game to shut down.
In short, it would be my suspicion that the issue is due to some sort of corruption in the savefile introduced in versions 0.16.8 -> 0.16.11, and NOT present in 0.16.12
Is there any further information from me that would be useful to you in this matter?

You are right. Yet I still created a code that fixed the (hope to be last) side effect of the corruption hat happened before.
At least, now the consistency checks we have cover much more compared to before.
