Re: Add "Only 1 inbound train allowed at a time" checkbox for train stops
This specific solution has come up a few times in recent months. Most of the time I think people have ended up agreeing with my solution that the better option is circuit controlled limits on the number of trains able to "path to or be at" a particular stop and circuit controlled train pr...

Re: Read train contents from locomotive
Can we get something more specific about what you're trying to accomplish? I can think of several ways to automate train refueling without needing to know the exact quantity of fuel in a train. In my experience, it's generally for the best for an inserter to simply keep a full stack of fuel in a loc...

Re: Suggestion to change Whitelist/Blacklist terms
Darkness is the absence of light. Negating white gives you black. A 'negative' is the inverse of a photograph that depicts an image with a positive amount of light. Saying that black is connected to negativity is not saying that black is 'bad'. That's not a valid argument here. We're not talking ab...

Re: [0.17.35] Installer entries in Windows control panel incomplete
It may be beneficial to still have the display name contain the version for further dummy-proofing and possibly avoiding technical issues with multiple factorio installs, but yeah the version and publisher fields should also be filled in.

Re: Suggestion to change Whitelist/Blacklist terms
I can see the point you're trying to make. Honestly, I see no reason outside of minimal 'time to implement' to make the choice, but even I'm hardpressed to agree that these 'terms are generally frowned upon', as a large number of the articles in your own google search say that these are terms that n...

Re: Rail signal placement should show ghosts in front of the signal
Definately agree with this. Was always annoying trying to figure out where to place the signal so that i could have an appropriately placed block on both sides of the signal.

Click on the chest and the infomation box will show you exact contents. I believe there's even a UI option now that turns the information box into a pop-up that appears right next to your cursor.

Re: Weapon and ammo stats readability
There are several competing issues at work here. In a lot of games, I'd say to just display the final number and be done with it, but factorio's player base is the kind where they like to see all of the numbers and the math, so I feel like it should be visible. Beyond that, there's a question of scr...

Re: GG's Starlog 1 - The Big Proposal
So... I guess to be blunt: This is so far beyond factorio's gameplay that it has no chance of ever even being seriously considered. I mean... don't get me wrong... it looks kinda cool and I love me both some MoO and Starbound, but this just doesn't even come close to fitting what Factorio is. These ...

Re: Invert Landfill
Currently major problem of this mod is that platform itself, being flooring, can be replaced with another flooring, and after that behaviour gets broken. Ideally, flooring must be placed on top of platform. Or prevent the placement of flooring or program the game to recognize that any flooring goin...

Re: Directional Rails!
I think you're going to need to be more specific are careful in your description, because right now this makes no sense to me. Rails can easily be designated as unidirectional by putting the signals themselves on it. I'm pretty sure that Factorio even makes additional effort to prevent you from mess...

Re: Return the object avoidance mode for ghost rail building
For reference, this feature may have been implemented due to this topic: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=69001&p=419969#p419969, if not it at least provides rational. For me personally, I have to acknowledge I'm looking at this and going "Nope. Don't care." The only...

Re: Invert Landfill
wasn't that original terrain type by definition water? Water, Deep water, Shallow water, Green water, .... You can't just hardcode that landfill is reverted to water, it must be a universal algorithm of terrain type modification. I'd say each tile must contain stack, but I don't know how much data ...

Rail planner blueprints
TL;DR Blueprints that utilize the pathing functionality of the rail planner to build customized rail(and possibly other structure?) layouts. What ? Specify at a minimum a track to use for a right turn, a left turn, and a strait piece. From these (at a minimum) the rail planner should be able to mos...

Re: Invert Landfill
I'm good both with A: landfill being undoable, or B: creating 'platform' tiles that have functionality similar to landfill but are removable. Either way, I really really want some way to cover up water and make use of the space and later on to be able to remove said covering and make use of the water.

Re: Beacon on/off via circuit network
Actually, both are still useful. The ability to isolate an entire section of your base behind a single power-switch as much easier in many circumstances than wiring every building in an area. The ability to turn off buildings via the circuit network, on the other hand, is the best way to disable som...
