Re: Friday Facts #226 - New mod portal & other news
Albeit short and not full of excitement or controversy, I very much like this Friday Facts. The convention sounds awesome and it will be really cool if you guys can attend more in the future! Spread the drug, err game around! :D I did notice the mod portal being much faster and responsive when it wa...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)
Emotional rollercoaster indeed. I'm glad that for now you guys have decided not to nerf bots and did give buffs some thought. I really like the last idea provided by V453 and if there is a way to do it without too much trouble I feel that would be great! :) The new splitters options are fantastic! T...

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts
This FFF had me shaking my head and definitely increasing my blood pressure. :x The logic here seems so flawed I don't even know where to begin. I guess to give more constructive criticism rather than rant I'll say this. If you think belts aren't good enough compared to bots, then buff the belts (ma...

Re: Friday Facts #223 - Reflections on 2017
I don't much like the fluid changes, but it's also partially because the pipes are so clunky. They seem like they transport fairly low amount of liquid given that they are like 2 meters diameter pipes that block all movement... I agree that barrels were relatively too powerful though. I read from w...

Re: Version 0.16.8
Right, but it also nerfed belt transport of fluid almost equally. By reducing the capacity of the barrel, if you want to transport say, 1,000 liquid in barrels, you now need 20 barrels instead of 5, which means more belt space and more belts needed. Barrels are not intended to be a better way of tr...

Re: Version 0.16.8
I like the new barrels, because I think that barrels were way overpowered until this release. Yes the throughput is lowered and you need more machines and belts/bots to fill and transport your barrels, but that's not even bad. Redesign your base - it's an experimental release. :) Except that now it...

Re: Version 0.16.8
Absolutely love the new ability to filter storage chests, and the new options on requester chests! :D Will come in handy a lot for sure. As for the fluid wagon, and specifically the barrel changes... I feel like this was a poor way to go about it. I can understand the fluid wagon changes, they did s...

Re: [TOGos][For 0.17][16.1] Cliffs not spawning, or only spawning in starting zone
It's a known issue. Unfortunately the fix will be in 0.17 since we can't change map generator without creating glitches in existing saves. This seems a bit silly to me. Wouldn't it make more sense to fix an issue and cause glitches in existing saves that may only be a week or two old, rather than w...

THIS IS AWESOME! :D I'm super hyped and very glad you guys decided to release before the end of the year so we can all waste our lives away over the holidays. Who needs family anyway, right? :P The Artillary wagon looks and sounds epic. I can definitely see myself just attaching one to every outpost...

Re: Friday Facts #217 - Just another Friday Facts
Awesome awesome awesome! This is the most exciting Friday Facts (for me personally) in at least a month or more. Having a passenger seat in vehicles is fantastic and will actually make combat a lot more interesting and fun in multiplayer I think. :D I am extremely thrilled about the resource tweaks!...

Re: Friday Facts #216 - Paving a path for the GUI update
Wonderful. Byebye for a 1.0 release this year. :) I nearly have won my bet with other webadmins at the release party in June. :D Seems like bye bye for even a 0.16 release this year, but I'm still remaining hopeful. The new GUI will be great once it does get implemented. Plus cleaning up all the co...

Re: Friday Facts #214 - Concrete rendering
Sorry to hear about the illness going around the office. Hope everyone gets better soon! :) As for the concrete, I think the graphic itself looks amazing and I would love to have it in the game! However, I am really not a fan of it being the graphic for concrete. That is more of a stone path or wall...

Re: Friday Facts #213 - The little things 2
One question. How will the new request paste functionality work if the requestor chest is serving 2 assemblers with different recipes? eg. one chest serving an assembler making construction bots and an assembler making logistics bots? Im guessing that you will need to manually add either the green ...

Re: Friday Facts #213 - The little things 2
Ah, the little things! That requester change is extremely nice and will save a lot of manual changing and tons of time honestly. There will obviously be some things that still need changing manually, primarily when it comes to large distances the bots have to travel. I do like that you guys chose 1 ...

Re: Friday Facts #212 - The GUI update (Part 1)
Really nice, like the new interface. I got some eye twitching when some text was off by one pixel, but I guess it's just the mockups ;) I found some buttons a bit too big, but I guess this is a design choice. On the bright side, this mean 0.16 will come a bit sooner. Oh come on, don't tease us like...

Re: Friday Facts #212 - The GUI update (Part 1)
Wow! :o This is beautiful! The GUI itself looks pretty good, I'd say better than the current one, but the additions and changes are what really have me drooling. :D The ability to see the trains path on the little map in the GUI window is amazing, and will be extremely helpful! Also being able to se...

Great FF as always, but I especially love these that show off new super awesome graphics and entities! All the circuit stuff looks fantastic and I think is definitely a change that's been needed for a while. The new lamps also look brilliant! :D Can't believe it's been 4 years since the first Friday...

Re: Friday Facts #209 - Optimisation is a way of life
I too can not get enough of these optimizations! :D I love reading about them, and love playing with them even more. The electric network and smoke improvements are really nice as those are two that I personally noticed getting a bit high as well. In regards to the bots. I would say that making the ...

Re: Friday Facts #204 - Another day, another optimisation
More optimizations, woohoo! :D While I usually don't understand much of the technical parts, it is always a joy to read through anyway to get a deeper look into stuff, and realize more of whats happening behind the scenes. A 9-13% improvement with the memory fetching on some saves is quite significa...
