mmmm paying $15 to save $3.
Or... you could pay $12 to save $6, because... honestly I could come up with a more sensible pricing structure than that.

Re: Factorio on sale, 10% off

I don't see it, do you have some sort of subscription to Humble Bundle? I've heard something along those lines before.

Edit: 73190?start=120#p450039 is the only mention I'm seeing here

whatever the case, this is 100% not intuitive:
I'm not sure what you're trying to get at, but it's not the same thing as this report is about.

@Koub if Ptx0 and Blazespinnaker are both fine with it what are your opinions on just splitting the topic? It seems like it should meet the on-topic requirements of the off-topic subforum.

Re: [1.1.6] UPS drop from 60 to 20 (or lower) when placing Rail/Chain Signal

Nothing unusual. Rail signals were placed by construction bots which happens during entity update, and placing signals causes immediate repath events or path revalidations for some trains. I guess it makes sense from a technical perspective, I'm not really sure how else it would work. I was probabl...

Forcing Direct3d shouldn't matter on Windows because that's the default anyway, you could try forcing opengl or the options here.

Re: [1.1.6] UPS drop from 60 to 20 (or lower) when placing Rail/Chain Signal

Unfortunately when rails or signals are created or destroyed, there are many cases that may invalidate some train paths or make some trains to now have a path so they have to be checked and this causes increased update time. Is it intended that this shows up under both train pathfinder and entity u...

1.1 has threaded belts, try this there.
Belts are at most 10-15% of the total update time, it's still going to be a single thread/memory bottleneck at ~45 UPS.

(Not to say it won't help, of course.)

Re: Version 1.0.0

Hi! For several years, I, my son, and my daughter played three games on three computers. The game was bought from my son and daughter. I played by connecting to them over LAN. After updating to 1.0.0, when connecting to a network game over LAN, the game says an unknown username and asks to buy. It ...

56446 is the closest I'm coming up with. I know I've seen something clearer elsewhere, if anyone else wants to jump in feel free.

Re: [1.1] Compressed(?), full belt with priority splitter causes splitter to "hang on" to a resource.

I'm fairly certain this is by design (splitters have a small internal buffer), let me look for a reference on that - I know there was some reason it was added.

Re: [Oxyd] [1.0.0] biters and spitters frozen

Replying to this as I'm playing 1.1.6 experimental and am seeing the same issue when I view enemy bases via radar. They engage normally when I'm on foot/vehicle but I think the usual attacks have slowed down. I'm going to play some more before lodging a proper bug report. If they attack normally th...

I don’t care how it is done, as long as it works.
Famous last words

More seriously: wanting something that just works and wanting an elaborate Clusterio setup are far from the same thing.

Re: ""Factorio 2""

I’d like to see a more performant multiplayer, one that allows a server to do simulation for the client. Or some sort of vanilla clusterio That's not the server doing the simulation for the client. That's teleportation between multiple servers, which is kind of moving the goalposts; the client stil...

Re: ""Factorio 2""

I’d like to see a more performant multiplayer, one that allows a server to do simulation for the client. The first is almost certainly never going to happen Never say never. As for “major changes”, part of the reason for factorio 2 would be to pay the devs for all the work they would do. They can’t...

I’d like to see a more performant multiplayer, one that allows a server to do simulation for the client. I’d like to see a more 3d ish game. Not one that lets you build in 3 dimensions, but one that solves the issue of train tunnels. The first is almost certainly never going to happen, the second s...
