Re: Friday Facts #200 - Plans for 0.16
While artillery train is probably fun it is generally useless because we have no way of detecting biter nests automaticly to call for the train. It's called "radar", kid. The orbital ion cannon has implemented the automatic destruction of freshly scanned biter nests with event.o...

Re: How did you discover Factorio?
I discovered Factorio right about there by launching Factory Idle on /r/incremental_games before anyone was supposed to. Actually, that isn't where I learned of Factorio's existence, I had noticed it on mod site spacedock.info before then, but it wasn't until this Reddit comment that it occurred to ...

Re: Friday Facts #200 - Plans for 0.16
Okay, let's not try to put nuclear missile words into Bob's mouth... Also, it will be much better if there are no trees surrounding the spawn point. :) Edit: I meant big forest. Although I can understand the annoyance of starting in a dense forest, I have to voice my disagreement with no t...

...will have the side-effect of making the system hackable by modders. I think the chair-breaking potential of this bit has been overlooked. To get back to what the post is talking about (by the way: Sorry, I'm kinda jumping in dry here and am going to be massively OT on a very interesting conversa...

Re: [Request] Sel's Mod Request
I haven't Bobbed 0.15 yet, does it still have that strange progression of primitive lead acid batteries followed by uber-advanced lithium ion batteries followed by considerably-less-advanced silver-zinc batteries? (Note: irl terms of advanced; silver-zinc is more advanced in Bob's.)

Re: When do they attack?
Prolly the best way to defend a normal base is to blast out all the nests nearby which are receiving pollution until you have all the territory to which pollution spreads, then build a perimeter with defenses only strong enough to deal with pioneer groups. Great success in Muddy Mountains (still pla...

Before this happens, can we get a consensus on whether the OP is a bug or a suggestion? I vote bug.Koub wrote:[Koub] Moved to off topic.

Re: The purpose of automation.
Actually this works out great. At the start of each belt you need to put an alien in a cage that runs in place and pushes the belt backward. This gives the belts their power which is transmitted from belt to belt. I think I saw too many old screensavers on my school's old Macs (Full Disclosure: I h...

Re: When do they attack?
When biters attack they draw a path, subsequent attacks will use the same path so drop a turret there. If you don't like it being that easy, click here and/or here for mods that fix this problem. Also, I'm used to playing with Mojo Resource Processing or No Hand Crafting with the polluton similarly...

Re: how to move GUI
On moving GUI things... It would be nice if GUI move was generalized so any click and hold on a non-control (empty frame) could grab the frame to move it instead of having to move it from the top region (although I guess all borders work; but I found it easy to add just 'clicked on blank frame' in ...

No mods? Ok, you can still find others and trade with them: https://forums.factorio.com/viewforum.php?f=53 dude. its lore, i am talking about lore. And I'm falling out of my chair laughing. I have a funny feeling the Wube guys are going to be concentrating on the game mechanics, and leave the lore ...

If we're talking about stealing "alien" women vs. stealing "native" women, the line still has a lot of explaining to do. What native women are like. Later, she says "This wilderness is my home. ... You can make yourself useful by bringing your Federation medicine to the nati...

Liking SidAlpha
Full Disclosure: Yeah, I'm a fanboy. Only learned of his existence two weeks ago, but yeah  (I'm not getting any direct or indirect monetary benefit from SidAlpha though; I don't think he even knows I exist.) I've suggested him to feature Wube Software and Factorio on his Diamond Devs series a...

Re: What means "Nauvis" in factorio
As far as I know "Nauvis" is the name of the primary game surface, and has never been expressed officially by the devs as the canonical name of the planet we're on.
