Re: Outpost train supply, does it really need 1 chest per item?
Yes, it does. You want (at least) one smart inserter and provider chest per item. I sometimes do two or more for ammo. If you don't, the inserter will get stuck on a different item. https://lennier.info/factorio/maps/awesome03222016/#-56.57,9.91,7 Like this. It's the one at the top. For loading stat...

Re: Friday Facts #135 - Getting Organized
In addition to what hobarrera said, hooking up your source control events (commits, closing issues, merge/pull requests, builds, etc...) to a chat service like mattermost/slack can give a lot of insight to what the team is working on without a lot of effort. A "commitbot" like those are e...

IT WERFS FLAMMEN!
Thank you so much! I'm a huge fan of flamethrowers in the game and am quite glad they're getting attention.

Re: Balancing Steel Barrels in Oil Barreling stations
My solution is to simply load/unload directly (direct insertion, no belt or chest) from the wagon to the assemblers. You can easily fit two per wagon per side, but I don't need that kind of throughput. The best part is the same station will work for both loading and unloading, just change the recipe...

Re: Dump map? Export to PNG?
Do you mean export the map map (what is displayed on the map screen) or do you mean the rendered map with the tilesets and everything? I know about the FactorioMap mod ... but is there a way to the same for the MAP MAP? Wow nice thread necro. To those reading, the thread's question has been resolve...

A link limit doesn't make much sense, if someone is going to sig spam they only need one link. Not sure what a limit is trying to prevent. Our benevolent modders already have tiny sigs

Absolutely nothing about Factorio MP requires Steam. If someone running a server says it does/doesn't, then they are a fool and you should avoid them.Pyris wrote:so glad to see a server not requiring people to be on Steam . i h8 steam and stay as far away from it as i can.

Re: The solution of railway problems and a bit of criticism.
this is a suggestion for how to change the signal mechanics to reflect how IRL rails signals actually work. Thankfully, this is a game, and not real life. The features being discussed here are found in other simulation games like OpenTTD. Factorio is designed to be simple, not to cater to railfans....

So what's the name of the IAP currency? Factocoin? Gems? I always imagined paying some to refill your furnaces and boilers.
