Re: High Res Concrete Textures - old style
Lovely... I do have one small request/suggestion: A cracked version with only a few cracks here and there. The current cracked version is a bit too cracked, but the smooth version is too pristine. I'm not a hater of the new concrete, but this stuff is really nice looking too, maybe make a mod that a...

Re: [Rseding91] [16.x] Achievement track state is not saved.
I don't know what to tell you then, because it still doesn't work for me... Step by step what I did: 1. Start Factorio from Steam, load a save. 2. Pin the achievements I want to track. 3. Save my game and exit to the menu 4. Load my game (yup, the tracker is working) 5. Exit to the menu, then exit t...

Exit the game, as in quit to Windows/Linux or just exit to the main menu? Because as stated earlier exiting to the menu works, but exiting to the OS does not.

Re: Version 0.16.7
I have to say, between the belt compression changes and the fluid wagon change, Wube is doing its best to follow Patreon's example.
Hopefully the result will be the same, a swift reversion to the way things were.

That seems like a rather worthless arbitrary change. Why remove that which was not broken?

Looks like you are wrong. I don't run any mods.
Also this has nothing to do with disappearing achievements, it is about the achievement tracker not saving what achievements are currently pinned.

Re: [16.0] Sideloading works completely different now
One thing that no one has mentioned here yet: This change (together with the also ill considered underground belt change) makes bots better. Bots are boring easy mode, and the last thing the game needs is yet another thing making them simpler than belts.

Re: Power poles display yellow hitbox even though not in range
You cannot mine these poles unless you are truly in range, but you can left click on them and see the network stats (which is nice).
I'm guessing this is a side effect of the range limit to view stats being removed? (I didn't notice anything in the change log, but I assume it was a deliberate tweak?)

Re: [16.x] Achievement track state is not saved.
Still present in 16.5 It seems that nothing saves the tracker state anymore. You can exit to the menu and the tracker will maintain state (no need to save your game), but exit the game and it is gone. Like I said earlier, I'm pretty sure this is a side effect of the way the Steam version always sync...

You are right... Kinda.
I tried saving and loading the same map without exiting the game and it worked fine, but exiting the game, and then loading the save clears the tracked achievements.

[Rseding91] [16.x] Achievement track state is not saved.
It seems that what achievements are tracked (pinned to the left side of the screen) is no longer saved. Every time I load my save I need to re-pin the achievements I want to track. IIRC this worked fine in .15 Would this have something to do with the Steam achievement changes? Because I use the Stea...

That rust skin looks awesome. The numbers in the color picker are a little hard to read, but it would be easy enough to fix.

Message passing is only the beginning. Updating shared memory is many times harder depending on exactly how the data is structured. You need much more syncronization to make sure everything is ready for each stage.

Re: Parrallel processing in games & applications
Ok, so I'm writing a media player, a very simple beast. There are three main threads, with more created on demand in certain cases (in the HTTP server mostly). The first thread creates the others, then becomes a dispatch thread for the HTTP server that is used to interact with remote apps. One threa...

There is an even simpler solution based on reading u238 output as a pulse trigger to remove 1 u235. No chests required.

Re: Backup power toggle help
My factory has 1 accumulator. If it reaches 90% charge the entire factory (except the defenses) turns off and an alarm sounds. This worked really well back when everything was boiler powered, as sometimes I would run low on coal if I wasn't paying attention. Basically my system is the same as descri...
