Because the new map gen is... odd. I don't care about the dense foresty bits (it's easy to burn it all down mid/late game, with the new flamethrower<3), or the small lakes (because of new landfill<3), OR the dense oil fields (because flamethrower turrets so funnn<3) but the part that IS annoying is...

Nope. This shouldn't happen even without that signals. Train suppose stop before signal if next block is occupied (even if that block is big and have multiple rails). As I can see he have signals on each entrance to that block in center so train that arrived second should wait. This crash could happ...

I'm sure that first 2 splitters are not sensitive to on which lane you put lead item. I didn't try that setup so i don't know where is the problem. Try to remove all splitters and place them again (it reset internal switch). Set filtered items again and try if it work.

Splitter will split items equally on all lines, not on belts.
