Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
No problem! Thanks for the error log. It looks like 0.17 probably changed the data for a number of things I'll have to do some research to see what changed. At this point I'll have to start writing code to do compatibility checks for different versions so that will be fun!

Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
Found the issues you've experienced and another related one I ran into.
New version is available now to download: https://bitbucket.org/rybadour/foreman/downloads/
This version also sorts the mods in the enable/disable form and no longer makes the loading panel float above all apps.

Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
Hmm this is weird. Do you have TodoList installed? It's seems strange that everyone seems to be reporting this as an error. Maybe I accidentally put part of my own testing application into the .zip file... Either way I'll look into it. Also, there are many issues with recipes at the moment but the o...

Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
Well for the normal game it kinda works, but I use all "bob's mods" exept vehicles. And I get an error while loading or, when I get it to load it looks like the mod settings I took are not correct. For example the construction robot nr1 should be build differently based on these settings ...

Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
Hey,
I was able to fix the problem and I've uploaded a new version here: https://bitbucket.org/rybadour/foreman/downloads/
Feel free to create issues on that project if you find anymore issues with 0.17.
Thanks!

Re: Mod-settings.dat Format in 0.17
Update: On a whim I tried skipping that byte and now the file gets parsed correctly.
Until I hear back I'll have to create an exception for 0.17 because of this.

Mod-settings.dat Format in 0.17
Hey, I'm maintaining a tool that needs to pull in mods and mod settings. Since 0.17 release my tool has been failing to parse the mod-settings.dat file correctly. I didn't originally write this code so excuse my ignorance but it seems there is an extra null byte before the first type? For example th...

Sorry, I just noticed that something broke Foreman in 0.17. I'll look into it tonight and post an update here once I fix it.

Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
Alright, ya as I suspected it was a bad timestamp it was pretty easy to exclude any mods that produce errors like that. The new version with that fixed is now available: https://bitbucket.org/rybadour/foreman/downloads/ Feel free to submit bug reports on Bitbucket as well, they might be easier to tr...

Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
Hi. I download build from https://bitbucket.org/rybadour/foreman/downloads/, maybe it's not last version... Another source dont work. This build crached with mod "Todo-List_16.9.0.zip" Okay, yup that's my version which is likely the latest build of it. I'll take a look into why that Mod c...

Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
@ncnecros Hey, which version are you using? It looks like your compiling the program yourself, is that correct? I don't see anything in the error you posted but a todo_list directory, what led you to think this was the cause? Looks like some timestamp on the zip files it's trying to extract is inval...

Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
Hello all, I did not read every page of this thread, but what I am hoping to find is a "Legacy" version of this tool. I only need to use it for vanilla recipes. Thanks in advance! -William Hey William, If your looking for something that works (especially with 0.16) then this is probably y...

Re: [MOD 0.15.15+] FNEI 0.1.12
Hi i was wondering if there are people having a solution for this "bug" https://mods.factorio.com/mod/FNEI/discussion/5c04713e59db40000d1bceca I just ran into this bug with Pyanodon's mods when I clicked on SynGas from the search both the FNEI window and icon disappeared. Restarting the g...

Re: Newbie in need
Store it in a tailing pond until you can crack it into coal gas (the recipe is unlocked with red science, but you actually need green science to make the ingredient, pressurized air). You will also have to make creosote from it. In a tailing pond, liquids (like tar) are stored, but gases (like coal...

Re: Newbie in need
I thought it was best to post here instead of a new post... I'm really confused about what to do about Tar in the early game (before researching). The only way to get red science is to create coke which produces Tar but there doesn't seem to be a way to process Tar or Creosote and there is no way to...

Re: Help With Lua Require
Thanks for code snippet Dave. And Thanks Bob
Actually if you look in Angels refining they use a relative path in prototypes/override-functions.
Anyways I found a custom require that works. I updated my StackOverflow answer if anyone is curious!

Re: Help With Lua Require
Thanks Dave but I think the problem is deeper than that. Sounds like I'll need to completely override the require function and make it dynamically find files in the current directory. I haven't found a simpler solution which leads me to believe the Factorio devs must have done something similar to s...

Help With Lua Require
Hey, I'm trying to figure out how Factorio and Angels Refining uses Lua Require but outside of Factorio I can't seem to get the same behaviour. I opened a Stackoverflow question: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53531548/lua-nested-require-path The line is question is the first line in this file:...

Re: Foreman 0.1.9 - A factory optimisation tool.
Glad to hear there is still interest! Since that last post I've been working on and off mostly fixing bugs and improving the usability. Once I move the code over to GitHub I'll create an announcement and release all the work I've done. Unfortunately there are some rather large improvements needed to...
