Re: Tutorial doesn't say how to set a train stop

This helped me. I'm not sure if the 2.0 updates invalidate any of the information here, but it could be a helpful start

Re: Full Details for Map Generation Settings?

It's been 5 years since I last played Factorio, but I do have over 200 hours of play time. I remember a lot of how the game works but also have forgotten a lot. I remembered that trees and grass absorb pollution, for instance, and I always like generating forested grassland for that reason. (Plus I ...

Re: Full Details for Map Generation Settings?

Thanks, that is somewhat helpful, though still unclear how the numbers really affect the result. It'd be nice if there were a few more words with the tooltips to say "a higher number means ____" similar to the moisture and terrain type tooltips.

Full Details for Map Generation Settings?

Is there a guide with more details for what the numbers mean on the Enemy and Advanced tabs of the Map Generator? The wiki page doesn't seem to give any more details than the Map Generator tool tips.

For instance, with the Evolution settings Time, Destroy, and Pollution factors, it is unclear to me ...

I didn't notice it until this post, but the stars in the background should not move. They are far enough away that they should look stationary from our vantage point above Nauvis.

Re: Friday Facts #436 - Lost in Translation

I thought you fixed this issue for the 1.0 release. I remember a FFF about language translations. I’m surprised to see this has been an unsolved issue for the past 4 years.

I only play in English and am thus unaffected, but great to see the updates you’re making for those who are!

This sounds like a nice way to see how other people solved various problems. Perhaps a bit spoily. Will people be able to create blueprints out of someone else's layouts? (I hope not)

I would love to know the statistics of how many copies sold each of the first 24 hours following release!

And for anyone who is in to this sort of thing, a Mod Request: bring back the 1.1 Spidertron motion

There was no “nerf”, it was a rework. It made spread out beacons much better, and denser beacons stayed nearly the same
Thanks for the clarification.

Solar panels are more efficient when cold. They don’t need heat pipes to work as long as the layer of snow on them isn’t too thick.

Ammonia fumes are toxic

I don't understand a few things:
Why do the engineer's attacks hit behind the head and not hit the worm's face?
Why is the ground exploding 50 feet in front of the worm as it chases the engineer?

Re: Friday Facts #425 - Behind the legs

I think I agree that the old Spidertron movement looks better. Works great for the Pentapods, doesn't look nearly as good on a robot. It's kind of twitchy and jerky. It's lost some of what made mechanical and cool.

So regarding the twitching/jerking: that's my bad. The video I uploaded to FFF ...

I don't like how legs in the Spidertron's new animation stretch all the way during a regular walk sideways (on the screen). The original looked somewhat orderly, while the new looks a bit funky to me, creeps me out a bit, to be honest.

I play with a group of friends, one of them doesn't want to see creatures with 0 or 1 leg like snake, beause of crippling phobia, another one doesn't want to see creatures with more than 2 legs, for the same reason, and i don't want to shoot biters that have 2 legs only, so it would be nice if ...
