Re: Dragging belt at 90 degree angle now impossible

I've seen a lot of these sorts of suggestions, but...

Blueprints aren't locked. One of my most used blueprints even before the switch was just four belts in a line, and it's been very handy afterwards for when I need to paint en-mass and/or don't want to deal with the locking.

Re: Version 1.1.6

Why is the satellite under Production and not Intermediate? Because then someone would argue you could use productivity modules to make them. Honestly, why not? EDIT: [*]Moved rocket silo + satellite into the production tab. Not seeing any changes to the production tab. Satellite's still there like...

Re: Using one turbine to control an arbitrarily large number of nuclear reactors

Ah, I see the issue: An unexamined and unstated assumption on my part, which is, specifically, that there is enough buffer capacity to last an entire cycle. If not, then use of it as a controller will be off because while the measurements will accurately track how much energy is removed from the sys...

Re: Have a low power icon as well as power off (for beginners :)

I'd love to have a "low power" icon in vanilla, and not only for beginners. It would be helpful to see that at some times, laser turrets tax poxer production too high while firing, or to detect incoming brownout earlier. Low power is far more useful than no power (like in your car, the in...

Re: Have a low power icon as well as power off (for beginners :)

We have these great tutorials now that trigger on things. I see no reason there can't be one that triggers on a network having > 0% but < 100% power, that explains that when power is low you will see slowdowns in machines. I know it feels good to know this already, and have people who don't know it...

Cleaned up the display a bit; here it is post plant expansion: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1647719266559677410/D773C4AF822297B8D9D581C49BFD0829DA8B7B68/ @farcast: The microbrownouts you described I encountered briefly at the start, but after I added a very small fudge factor to the 't...

Re: Advanced circuit network conditions for train behavior in 1.1

You can multiply everything by -1 to convert it to a maximum finder. On testing, there's more to it than that. Factorio truncates negative numbers as well. Thus, for an example I hit right now, 323 / 15 = 21, and -323 / 15 = -21. For finding the minimum of a positive number, this works; the result ...

Re: Allow comparison between *Each and *Everything in decider combinators.

Sorry, but nobody will understand that. And I see no mathematical reason why it should work like so. :) ... I can assure you those outputs are exactly what you get when you set up the individual combinators and sum the outputs. Tested ingame; you can try it yourself, if you like. Or I could drag yo...

Re: I want to play factorio but I lack a goal

A word of warning: The recipes in SpaceX, once you actually get to space, rapidly become a very real pain to setup and debug. Mod is very, very fond of loops and catalysts.

On the other hand, it lets you build spaceships. Which are awesome.

Re: Power issue

In the gameplay help they take about a ration 1:20:40 1 boiler 20 steam engines and 1 offshore pump. You've misunderstood the ratio. It is one offshore pump to twenty boilers to forty steam engines. A usual layout is running a line of twenty boilers off a pump, and then connecting two steam engines...

Yep, realized that just now while I was fiddling. I feel kinda stupid for asking now :v

Re: Advanced circuit network conditions for train behavior in 1.1

Here is a scalable solution. It works by calculating an average, then dropping every signal above average. If it runs out of signals, it sets the average to a large number and restarts. 0eNq9l8uOmzAUhl+l8rIlM5hrQOqil/WsZleNIgInE0tgkDFRo4gH6Ft00Sfrk9SGTAiEm2naTSSI+Tk+3zn/MSe0jQvIGKEc+SdEwpTmyP92Qjl5...

Allow comparison between *Each and *Everything in decider combinators.

This is equivalent to performing the chosen operation on each individual input channel, then summing the results. This can be implemented already with the current combinators, but must be done with a specific channel in each combinator and then the outputs summed via ganging on the same wire. This r...

Re: Compact Uranium all in one (ore processing +Kovarex enrichment + train fuel + fuel cell + reprocessing)

You have what appears to be a disconnected pair of underground pipe segments in the middle of the lower row of Kovarex centrifuges. Looks like it might be a remnant of trying to feed the RF factories?

Re: Map tag dialog: Enable old features additionally to new ones

I don't mind the new GUI, but I'd like at least one old feature: The ability to put down iconless markers. I like to flag ore patches with their starting resources, so I know how far along they are, but the new teardrop pins if you choose nothing else vastly increase the area of the tag and make it ...

Re: What do you think Petroleum Gas is?

Whatever it is it's clearly contaminated with sulphur, given you can get sulphur from it directly. The other primary use is plastic, which doesn't narrow things down much; there are a lot of different kinds of plastics and the Factorio version has an additional carbon source in the form of coal. (Qu...

Something else you can do with this system: Circuit-driven tracking of the actual percentage of your steam generation you're using/not using. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1647718895266102102/FF78278C12C4E2AC62974CD315880EF43F6AE3EE/ In this case, I charted remaining capacity.
