I fixed the second problem, it was a corner case for trains with just 1 station in their schedule, it was not applying the pathfinding penalty. With the first problem, I'll get back to you on that, I have tried a simple solution, but it became more complicated along the way, so I need to do some tes...

Would you happen to have the savefile with the testing setup? I have not been able to reproduce this, only with rotated belts, which I think is a separate problem (unless you rotated every underground belt).

Chain signals are an extension over regular signals, so the signal_state is acting exactly the same way, as if the signal were a normal one. This might not be a bug, but it is still pretty stupid. I think a lot of people would like to see a button for moving items straight to trash slots, for example reusing the X button, that throws items on the ground.

This is not something that can be currently done, the beam needs to be tied to an entity with a shooter (e.g. combat robot, turret), I will look into doing something about that.

Thank you for the report, the train still had a path, even though there was no schedule, this problem will be fixed in 0.12.5.

Thank you for the report, this will be fixed in the next patch, but for newly placed rails/signals only, you need to replace the existing problematic ones.

Thank you for the report, although I have not been able to reproduce this problem, I have added a pathfinding penalty for "taxi trains", so this should not happen anymore.
