I made another test build, can you try? factorio_alpha_0.16.6.dmg As usual, don't use this on your saves, compatibility is not guaranteed.

I thought we already had native_dialog with gtk for linux.

Anyway I am all for introducing json5, but do it with a .json5 extension and .json for valid json.

Since this issue doesn't happen on any Macs we have, I don't have many ways to make this go faster. Fixing minor bugs is not more important, but there are not many Mac developers on the team, so again, I don't know how to make this faster. You can play 0.15.40, that's why 0.16.x is experimental. Was that 0.15.40 -> 0.16.4 direct update?

This is a duplicate of a solved bug in 0.16.3. Of course that means it only works for 0.16.3 -> 0.16.4 update, because I can't patch the 0.15.40 code that is broken.

Looks good, the graphics crash is a common one, probably not enough VRAM or something. I'll try setting up older versions.

Moving this to fixed then.

Could some of you try the attached app? To make it smaller, I removed a lot of data, so the game won't start properly, but it should crash later, with a factorio window open and a log file created. The error should say something about 'Unknown key:"font.default"'. This didn't immediately ...

Ok, now you're getting the same error as the others. The previous one was caused by a file that was deleted long ago and shouldn't have been there anymore, but the updater failed to delete it.
