Re: Deleted blueprint book

It's in its own file; If you enabled the recently added blueprint sync to steam it could be backed up there:

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

Newer idea!

Have the new BOP be a Chem Plant recipe (Just Crude>Gas), and only AOP be a refinery recipe. We already have the precedence of smaller lower tech smelters replaced with larger ones...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

IN: 2 Steel Barrels filled with "Sludge" (and add in water, because you know, water) I think the idea of a completely barrel-based refinery system is a nice option (mod?), however adding the Barrel Factor (tm) as mandatory is yet another network system to manage. I think having "slud...

I employ this mod to make them more environmentally friendly:

https://mods.factorio.com/mod/BarrelRecycling

I'm not for barreling everything but they have some uses to get fluids to some hard-to-reach places.

Re: 0.17.60 : Reduce Heavy Oil output of Advanced Oil Processing

I'm thinking the "extra" heavy oil will go to make the solid fuel cubes (via light oil for better efficiency?) now that rocket fuel requires liquid light oil directly.

Re: Temporary extension of inventory by chest for personal construction

Logically since you are working with the contents of the chest a simple way to avoid runaway abuse is to only allow the "chest crafting" when the chest is open -- close the chest and it will cancel any incomplete handcrafting added since the chest was opened (put the "limbo" mate...

Re: Friday Facts #304 - Small bugs; Big changes

1) Every game item must have a "pollution cost" - a new special value property that show how much pollution got released ... 2) Since any recipe turns one set of items into another, it can be seen as "input products got destroyed, output product(s) get created". ... 3)... Once e...

Just a question, after the release of the final version of the game are you planning a graphic upgrade? I'm not a dev but I watch these pages from the front page of the official wiki: https://wiki.factorio.com/Roadmap https://wiki.factorio.com/Upcoming_features Looks like 0.17 is slated for "M...

Re: Remove flamethrower ammo from the game

But will the flamethrowers then "produce" empty barrels that need cleanup like the other unbarreling recipes? That's my main dislike for barrels: dealing with the vanilla-unrecyclable barrels... I'd almost prefer something like needing 1sulfur+1plastic+ (fuel) to make some sort of burnable...

Re: Friday Facts #304 - Small bugs; Big changes

The blue science is really behind a really big barrier I normally save and step away from Factorio when confronted with the Blue Science barrier as I know it will take some time and running around to set up the pipes, usually coming back at it the next day: pumpjacks>(crude)>refineries offshorepump...

I'm just want to inform, that even if it sounds weird , me and my friends already beat the game and we are actually waiting the stable version to play it again with all the cool new stuff. How long did it take your team to "beat" 0.16? Was it completely Vanilla with default map options( o...

Re: Have Some Questions Before I Buy.

You don't need Steam at all, it will only slow you down when you will want to run one Factorio folder per game ! ;) (and maybe multiple Factorios in parallel, it can sometimes be helpful for comparing stuff...) https://factorio.com/buy Ah, but Factorio is so awesome if you bought on steam KUBE will...

Well, no. Sometimes I want to get stuff from points A1 and A2 to points B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B7, B8, B9, B10 and B11. one big buffer. The current model supports some respect of distance of producers>consumers, generally giving priority to closer consumers. E.g., when there is scarcity the closer...

Re: A Case for Balancing Nuclear Power

A smart reactor needs one steam tank connected to one of the middle lines of heat exchangers and steam turbines. You don't even need a steam tank per reactor. The effect on UPS for that one added tank should be negible. A nuclear power "facility" is to generate consistent electricity to t...

Re: 0.17 Train Station Behavior

As for the risk of repathing I agree. That is a problem with enabling/disabling stations. But afaik changing signals won't cause a repath unless the train gets stopped at a red signal. So changing the signals based on the stacker fill shouldn't alter trains on the way often (unless your network is ...

Re: Landfills, Bridges, Boats (Explaining an Idea)

That may only apply if you use Alien Biomes, now I come to think of it, and I never checked vanilla also places shallow water at the edge of the ocean, but I bet it does. I was sad about that. You may wish to look into "Waterfill" mod which has a few flavours of water to fill with, some s...

Re: Making a Mess of Red and Green Science

Boxes have a use as buffers. I suggest looking into videos of "main belt". What that lets you do is clear an area to bring in resources into your base, then you allocate room for four (double-sided) belts of science BACK down the belt to your science labs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N...
