Re: Py Beginner advice - map settings / bus
Aside from the large deposits which need the specialized miner, is there an ore to mine to generate Raw Nexelit? The only other way I can see for making it is using tailings, which seems odd. theres a green sci recipe that allows u to dig raw nexelit anywhere with the ground borer. Ah thanks, that ...

Hello, I wanted to share with you my early base - looking for improvements since I just decided to start over again with everything I learned so far :) Early power setup that also generates coke for furnaces - inserted manually - I was really happy to get it going. not a bad first start. though i s...

As far as I can tell no, but you can generate a lot of it from tailings, and it's a fast recipe as well. (I...

Re: Py Beginner advice - map settings / bus
I do city blocks with LTN. The city blocks are pretty big (200x200 interior space). They typically take in quite a few things and export quite a few things...I pretty much shove stuff in until I either feel like the block is getting cramped or I have a plan for the space I'm not using yet. Basicall...

Robots/roboports, can be built really early (red science, once you get rubber and stuff sorted). I built a few and deconstructed my old iron mine but then they just sat there because they didn't have anywhere to offload. Am I missing something or do you need to research loads of green science to ge...

Re: How to avoid massive coke consumption?
this is apparently a update failure from 0.17 do thee math again with coke being as 5MJ and see how good turbines are If coke were 5 MJ then indeed the mk1 turbine would be considerably better indeed, but it's not. I'm pretty sure red hot coke would still be better, though, even assuming you're rol...

Not sure if this is the right place for this, I couldn't see a general help thread so this is a bit highjacky. Re: Modlist
AAI Industry pairs really well pymods. The introduction of motors means you can have a mall without needing to automate tier 1 circuits. 20190506232057_1.jpg Seems a little cheaty to me in this context, not that there's anything entirely wrong with that with a pack this hard. I'll point out as a fo...

Re: Modlist
My current other mods are: Advanced Combinator (not really needed, and kind of a UPS hog unless your builds don't mind if you lower the tick rates. also a bit prone to crashing) Auto Research (essential if you're going to add things like QoL research, otherwise you probably would want to decide on e...

Re: pY Petroleum Handling
I really like the idea of making hot air with a loop of heating and cooling the same substrate, rather than tearing through staggering quantities of stone brick. With that said, I think the new hot air is so much easier to make than the old one that some of the recipes using hot air probably need so...

Re: How to avoid massive coke consumption?
it is 5MJ now So now, 10 coal -> 6 coke + 40 coal gas + 50 tar -> 6 coke + 80 coal gas -> 6 coke + 200 syngas (with oxygen), which is exactly the right ratio to make 300 600C combustion mixture, which will burn in a turbine to supply about 74 MJ. Converting to red hot coke, 6 red hot coke becomes 2...

Re: Py Beginner advice - map settings / bus
No bus at all, instead either rush cargo bots and manage your primary production area entirely that way, or go for something along the lines of city blocks with items transferred by trains (which is most easily done with LTN).

Re: How to avoid massive coke consumption?
you might gen better power with a better secondary input in the power house Not at that stage; syngas is already 600C, about the only hotter thing that's feasible to reach at that stage is acetylene, which costs too much coke to be viable. Just in general the mk1 combustion turbine uses coal ineffi...

Re: Why can I convert iron to energy?
Thematically, the iron stick isn't "converted", it's used like an improvised drill to dig up surface rocks. I do agree that stone -> tar is a bit weird, though.

1 dude YOU GET MUCH MORE ENERGY FROM THOSE 3 COKE IN THE TURBINE THAN IN THE VANILLA BOILER ,ALSO WHAT OTHER THING DO YOU BURN BASIDES COKE IN THE POWER HOUSE , IF ITS H2 ITS NOT THAT GREAT BETTER USE SYNGAS AND MAKE IT TAR>COALGAS>SYNGAS AND POWER PROBLEMS WILL VANISH !!! 2 YOU CAN HAND CRAFT AMMO...

Re: How to avoid massive coke consumption?
Hi! I have just started playing the py mods and I wonder if there is a way to avoid the massive coke consumption in the beginning of the game (I have SP1 and a few SP2 researches unlocked). The problem is that I need an enormous amount of coke for two things: 1. Energy. Instead of using the vanilla...
